PROM OUR GARDENING FRISNDS

. York Co., Penna. Dear Mrs. Hopkins: Sept. 24, 1947

Enclosed find check for $4.50, for which please send me a peck of your mixed daffodil bulbs, ten or more varieties.

I use them for naturalizing in a steep, wooded hillside which I am making into a rock garden. The rocks grew there, and the bulbs I ordered from you last fall were put there, but there is still room for plenty more. They bloomed beautifull oe last spring, made quite a show. So much so that some appreciative soul visited the place one night and stole about one fourth of ne best ones, dug them out bodily. I hope for better luck with my present order, and I am thinking strongly of augmenting my eardening equipment with a few booby traps, plus barbed wire.

r Yours truly, Mrs. K. K. Schulte

WE are grateful to I'rs. W. Bryan Moore of Wadesboro, MN. C. for send- ae us a clipping from a Charlotte, N. C. newspaper, which shows an ractive picture of Mrs. Moore amid a large planting of naturalized daffodils. The clipping says in part, "The beautiful Moore home is so situated that it overlooks the sea of daffodils which almost com- pletely surrounds the house......Sixty out-of-town guests were in- vited for lunch yesterday to see the blooms at their height. Guests ei who had visited Holland said that this was ae more DeautLiy lh (than a) dae anything they had seen in that country, which is famous for bulbs!" RO

Mrs. Moore writes us, "I thought you might be interested in seeing er ne 2 what I have done with your deffodils. I plant them ina grove of ‘pines. Out of the 200,000 I have planted, I have eit 80, O00 from Be ee
